Help Support Finishing
“the AMERICAN dream” Documentary
America has the highest maternal mortality rate of any industrialized country in the world. More than two women die every day in the USA from pregnancy-related causes, and 3 to 4 times as many Black women as White are at-risk or die during pregnancy. Its time for change.
Through the documentary the AMERICAN dreamthe women tell their own stories…Perhaps it is time to listen.
Raising awareness about this preventable issue gives a platform to Black women to share their experiences, and educates and empowers communities to push for change. This documentary exposes the disparities that have persisted for generations.
YOU CAN HELP! Your supportive donation will help us finish this film and is so appreciated!https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/exposing-maternal-death-in-the-usa/
The listening tour will open in Orlando, Florida, January 2016 and Jennie Joseph wants to bring it to FIVE other cities!
Keep a look out as we’ll soon be announcing an upcoming competition for five Perinatal Safe Spots (PSS) to host the film, hold a town hall meeting and receive Maternal Child Health training in 2016.
If you are not yet a PSS it is not too late to request to become one.
