2016 Grant Cycle Open

The Foundation for the Advancement of Midwifery (FAM) grants funding for programs and projects that advance midwifery through:

  1. Education—provide education to the general public, expectant parents, midwives and student midwives, and/or policy makers regarding the midwifery model of care.
  2. Research—support research activities relating to the midwifery model of care.
  3. Policy—impact policy regarding maternal and child healthcare and/or women’s health that favors using the midwifery model of care and midwives as care providers.
  4. Promoting Health Equity—projects that implement the midwifery model of care for those most vulnerable in maternal and infant mortality rates.

The Foundation grants an average of $4,000 to each project with typical grants ranging from $1,000 to $15,000.
